Filing Screen
Allows you to configure the layout of the Filing screen.

  Show me

Top   Folder appearance
Sets the way in which the folder names are displayed in the Filing tree.

There are three main components to a folder name:

  Name
This is the Contact / Company / Family / Asset or folder name. This might be shorter than the actual name in the database.

  Reference
This is the end-most bit of the folder number.
Eg. [64]

  Full reference
This is the whole folder number.
Eg. [100-44000-64]

The way in which a folder is displayed is determined by choosing some or all or these components.

If you are not interested in knowing a folder's reference number, you could format your folders as just Name.

Top   Padding
This allows you to pad-out the Reference numbers (if you have chosen to display them) with zeroes so that all the filing reference numbers are the same length, and all the Names then line up.

Set the Formatting to Reference, then Name
Set the Padding to 5 digits (or more)

Zeroes are added to the beginning of the reference number, not the end.

Note The Padding option does not alter the reference numbers of the folders in the database, only the way they are displayed.

Top   Sort on
Determines how the Filing tree is sorted.

You can sort on either Name or Reference, and the order is set regardless of whether you are displaying what you are sorting on.

Note The Daily Archive folder is always sorted in Month order, regardless of this setting.

Top   Embolden the first component
If this is ticked then the first component on each line of the Filing tree will be emboldened.

If this is unticked then each line appears in a normal font.

Top   Default pending tray
Sets the pending tray that will appear if you click the Pending tray button on the Filing screen toolbar.

The default is the Work Files pending tray, which is the most commonly-used tray. Alternatively, if you work mainly with scanned documents for example, then you could set the default as the Scanned Images pending tray.
